I am descended from Laura Childress and John M Burgess. They were married Dec
31, 1857 in Jackson Co.Laura came to TX in 1874 according to her confederate
pension application. I know that John M Burgess and Laura Childress Burgess
lived in AR for a period of time as their children were born there, and he
died there during the Civil War in Ft Smith AR. They also at some point lived
with Laura's sister Nancy Childress Jones in Wood Co TX .
