I have been having a great time with the response from my original posting about Carters in Greene Co., Tennessee. The following is a list of Carters that were in Surry Co., NC that was sent to me yesterday by Gayle because the first Carter in Greene county that we know of came from Surry, NC.

Maybe someone else on the list can help us see if this is the John that went to Greene Co. in 1783.
