Pat,

You can pay Ancestry.com or Ancestry.ca for a short or long
subscription that will include the Canada 1851 census.

You can go to a locale LDS branch library near where
you live and find out if they still have a free online
subscription to Ancestry.

You can search the online catalogue of the LDS master
library in Salt Lake City. They do have a few books
containing transcriptions of the 1851, then go to SLC
and read the appropriate book.

There was no 1851 census in some parts of Canada
because there were uninhabited places, such as
part of what would later became Huron County,
not-yet-named-Wingham twp. There may have been
someone there in 1851 but either no record survives
or no census taker was assigned.

What county and township 1851 do you want?

Maggie
