No I do not agree that is her that died in early 1880. Unless the census info was wrong, Mary Ann was still alive and living in Kennebec in 1881 when the census was taken:
1881:
Household:
Name Marital Status Gender Ethnic Origin Age Birthplace Occupation Religion
JOHN MILLER Male German 36 Ontario Weslyan Methodist
MARY HUFMAN W Female Irish 50 Ireland Church of England
JOHN HUFMAN Male Irish 14 Ireland Church of England
MAGIE HUFMAN Female Irish 16 Ireland Church of England
ISAH HUFMAN Male Irish 21 Ireland Church of England
Source Information:
Census Place Kennebec, Addington, Ontario
Family History Library Film 1375873
NA Film Number C-13237
District 118
Sub-district M
Page Number 5
Household Number 21
Note in above census- Mary was born in Ireland, but John Huffman, Maggie and Isaiah were born in Ontario.
What do you mean when you say that article states where "he died"- you mean Gibson, right? And where does the article say he died? What newspaper was that information in?
Did you check the cemeteries at Kennebec?
Thanks again from Nora
