First Oakland City College, became Merritt Junior College in 1963, when it became part of the new "Peralta" College District. http://www.peralta.cc.ca.us/ But they did not have yearbooks. For more information on the districthttp://www.oaklandtribune.com/annaleeallen read this story from Sunday's (May 16) Oakland Tribune. Also the California College of Arts and Crafts, still has a campus on Broadway in Oakland, it is now called now California College of Arts. http://www.cca.edu/

If she came from Norway especially to attend college, then it was probably UC Berkeley or Mills College. Also California College of Arts and Crafts was in Oakland on Broadway. And many foreign students who came to California to attend UC. turned out to be missing a couple of required classes or needed to work on their English more and went to Oakland Junior College for a year or two before going to U.C. Oakland Junior College later changed its name to Oakland City College and then, I think, changed the name again in later years. There was also Holy Names College, a Catholic college for women. Not everyone who went to college there was Catholic.
