Hello, everyone.

I am the new list administrator.

I administer a number of other Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists.

I have made some changes to the operation of the list, to make using the
list better. One of the changes, is the implementation of prepending,
where, in the list mode messages distributed by the list, the subject
line should start with the list name in square brackets. This makes
filtering list messages easier, and makes scannning through message
subjects easier, for message lists that are not filtered. I have also
implemented the use of a tagline (message footer) that includes the link
for action relating to your list subscription and for accessing
information about the list.

I hope that the changes that I have implemented, are acceptable to you
all, or, at least, to most of you.

Now, to get the list active, I ask that subscribers post an introductory
message, introducing yourselves, and stating your interests/queries. By
doing this, the sharing of information increases, and the chances of
finding more information, and finding more relatives (who may be
subscribed to the list, but unknown as relatives), is increased.

For anyone who is interested, a BUSBY name Y-DNA project exists. the
project is for males with the family name BUSBY or its variants,
including the names BUSBY, BUSHBY, BUSBEE, BUZBY, BUZBEE, BUSBICE,
BUSKEBY, etc. The BUSBY name Y-DNA project co-ordinator's name is Wayne
BUSBICE, and his email address for queries (and for applying to join the
project), is . The project involves finding
relationships between the different variants of the name, and, finding
relationships between different lines of each variant (eg, relationships
betwen different BUZBY lines, different BUSBY lines, etc).

I am a member of that project, and I support discussions relating to
Y-DNA testing for this name (the BUZBY name, as this is the BUZBY list),
and for the BUSBY name Y-DNA project, on this mailing list.

So, people, please post messages introducing yourselves, and stating
your queries and interests. In posting messages to the list, please
ensure that you include known locations and dates, and, your name and
location, so that people may know who you are, and, where you are, so
that information about resources that are local to you, may be more
informative.

Happy Hunting!
