Hello,

In my research on the William TIMS family, living in Tishomingo Co., MS,
ca 1845-1855, I recently ran across some marriage bond records that are
interesting to me:

- On March 4 1846, Martha Tims married Robert Busby in Tishomingo
- On March 4 1846, Louisa Tims married James Busby in Tishomingo

Considering there were only two TIMS families in Tishomingo in the 1845
state and territorial census the year before (those of William TIMS and
Samuel TIMMS), I would be surprised if these BUSBY men and TIMS women
weren't related somehow. I would guess they were sisters marrying
brothers, but it's only an assumption.

'My' William TIMS appears in 1850 in Tishomingo with his wife Mary and
two sons age 2 and 1. Jas (James?) and Louisa BUSBY appear with several
children, the oldest 9 years old. Is this the same James and Louisa?
Their ages are 27 and 20 in 1850 with two children (Eliza and
Siries/Sirles/Sirus). Louisa would be 16 or 17 at the time of her
marriage if these are the same people.

Robert and Martha do not appear on the 1850 census for Tishomingo. A
John R and Martha BUSBY appear in Jasper Co in 1850 in the household of
Zachariah BUSBY but they seem too young (20 and 21) to be the people I'm
looking for.

Robert and Sarah BUSBY also appear in 1850. I understand this is either
an unrelated Robert or a cousin of the Robert I'm looking for. If I
remember my research correctly, Sarah's maiden name was TURNER. I'm not
particularly looking for more info on Robert and Sarah, as I know their
line is documented elsewhere.

Does anyone have more information on James and Louisa BUSBY, as well as
Robert and Martha BUSBY? What happened to them in the years after 1846
and which families did they come from?

If my theory is correct, they are sisters of Nancy TIMS who married
Jesse BULLARD on May 5 1852, and of the aforementioned William TIMS who
married Mary Minerva HARRELSON abt 1846-47. For more information on
William's line, please visit my web site at www.sveinkarlsen.com.
