Joseph, this isn't what you asked, but I will put it out for clarity. I KNOW you can rule out any connection to the Bunn's in Henderson, NC..unless it goes back to England.
Robert Bunn came to the USA by way of Canada in the 1870's. From there they took a train and box car to NC. He married Catherine Marston in Canada. Had met her and her father on the trip.
The Bunn name would be found in the Norfolk, VA area as that is where a lot of Robert's son Harry's children settled. Not many carry the name as there were a lot of girls in the family. My grandfather Arthur Alexander Bunn was the younger of the two boys that Robert had. This is documented on line. My info is packed from a move, but a search would turn it up. My cousin had done a good job of documenting. I would be interested if you turn up a link to James Bunn, Robert's father at any point. We have the line to late 1600's, I believe. There might be a connection in there somewhere.
