Thanks for replying to this post. Since I wrote it I've managed to find out more about the Bulling family. As you say, William married Mary Webb and they had 8 known children. I haven't been able to find William's birth unfortunately - Norfolk Record Office searched for me but there are gaps in the Binham records. He may have been born between 1773-4.
I have a copy of the baptisms on microfiche but they're almost illegible for this period.
A couple called Robert Billing and Mary Manney were married at Binham on 6 Jan 1756 - William could have been a late son of theirs.
On the other hand, he may have been born into the Bullen family of Hindringham. I've been told a John Bullen was born there in the 1780's.
I've had fun trying to sort out their two sons, Henry Webb and Webb! At one point I'd almost decided that they must be the same person but they both appear on the 1851 census.
