I have new information to my earlier post.
Elsie and Rose Landon were the daughters of Archie B. Landon and his first wife, Ambrosina Deed. Ambrosina was from Brazil and Archie and her met while he was a missionary in South America. Archie is single and returning from Chile in Nov. 1919 on the Santa Luisa (ship). In May 1924, he is returning on the American Legion, from Brazil married to Ambrosina and has 9 month old Elsie, according to the records on ship manifests for Ellis Island. This puts Elsie Landon's date of birth around August 1923. Rose Landon would be born between 1924-1928 and they had a brother Martin James Landon, who was born and had died in 1929. Ambrosina died giving birth to Martin James in August 1929.
Archie then married Emma Luverne Snyder in Nov 1933. I know of no children between them. Emma raised Archie's two girls from his previous wife.
I do believe the two girls knew both English and Portuguese and at one point the family lived in Brazil. Archie put his residence as 1280 Main St. in Buffalo NY in 1919 and 1924 on the ship manifest records.
Anyone with information on this family or relatives, please contact me at:
Thanks,
Kelly
