Dear Georgia, My father, Thurston Lee Wesley Brownfield was Dona's first child. He was born out of wedlock March 7, 1926 in Waldron, Ar. Wesley Brownfield was estranged from his wife/girlfriend? at the time. Dona was 15 and Wesley was 27. He went by Pete as a nickname. Dona married Steve Shores and my dad was the odd man out. He went to live with Howard and Hazel Fruen Erwin. He drove cross-country starting at 14 and joined the navy at 17. My dad was rarely envolved with Dona and her children. He was'nt even listed as a surviving son in her obituary. My mother is Georgia Aylene Richmond of Cardiff community outside of Waldron. Mother had 9 children, 2 singles, 2sets of twins, and a set of triplets. All are alive and doing well. My father worked in a brick plant in Ca. and for Convair. With only a 3rd grade education he progressed well. We returned to Ark. in 1962 because my dad was becoming sicker from ulcers and nerves. Of dad's children there is a hair dresser, a construc!
tion superintendent of a large commercial company, a dentist(me), an R.N., a C.P.A., a maintence engineer, a dental technician. a factory worker and a home care nurse. He is proud of his family. We missed out on not really knowing Dona. I found where she was buried and drcorated her grave. I have done a research on the Brownfield family and barely started on the Fruens. I hope to learn more.
