I've "rescued" an old photograph of Julia B. DUNHAM which was taken at the
Gardner Studio in Maquoketa, Iowa. The photograph appears to have been
taken in the 1860's or 1870's with Julia appearing to be in her 20's at the
time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the
following information regarding Julia and her family:

Lewis H. DUNHAM (b. about 1837 in PA) married Julia (b. about 1848 in NY).
Census records provide the following information:

1870 census of Maquoketa, IA:

Louis DUNHAM, age 50, a Banker, born CT
Mary DUNHAM, age 40, Keeping House, born West Indies
Louis DUNHAM, age 30, Clerks in Bank, born PA
John DUNHAM, age 21, Clerk in Dry Goods, born OH
Julia BROWN, age 25, a Music Teacher, born NY
Sarah MCKINA, age 40, a Domestic Servant, born OH

1880 census of Maquoketa, IA:

Louis B. DUNHAM, age 68, born CT, a Banker, parents born CT
Mary B. DUNHAM, age 60, born Jamaica, Keeps House, parents born England
Lewis H. DUNHAM, son, age 40, born PA, a Banker, parents born CT
Julia DUNHAM, dau-in-law, age 32, born NY, parents born NY
John SLOAN, step-son, age 29, born OH, a Banker, parents born OH/Jamaica
Elizabeth SLOAN, step-dau, age 28, born OH, parents born CT
John SLOAN, step-son, age 4, born IA, parents born OH
Susan WOODELL, other, age 20, born IA
Jennie GRANT, other, age 19, born IA

I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member
of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
