I also have a William Brown brick wall from New England. He first appears
in the Dutchess County, New York married to a Quaker named Johannah around
1760 ish. Johannah may have perhaps been a widow as she brings a daughter
Lusanna or Susannah Chase into the marriage. It would appear that Lusanna was
born in Dartmouth, Bristol County, Massachusetts in 1756. Together William
and Johannah have several children and they migrated to Cambridge,
Washington County, New York. He served in the American Revolution as a
Captain under Lewis Van Woert. From there he and his family migrate to
Ontario, Canada sometime arond 1790. I cannot find a burial for Johannah so
I assume she passed away, and hence his move to Canada, or perhaps she
passed away on the journey to Canada. He died in 1811 and is buried in
Wolford Township, Grenville County, Ontario Canada.

Thank you
Willow Brown
British Columbia, Canada
