Descendants of John BRIGGS

First Generation

1.John BRIGGS was born ?. He died 1708 in Kings Town, East Greenwich, RI.
He was a Quaker and meetings were held in his home. 20 May 1671 - He was
clerk in the military company and took the oath of allegiance. 1 Jan 1672
- He and 5 others bought of Awashuwett, chief sachem of Quohesett, in
Narragansett, a tract of land there. 11 Jan 1672 - He bought 57 acres of
Richard Smith, for 5 shillings 8 pence. 1673 - John BRIGGS was admitted as
freeman. 1687 - John BRIGGS was appointed as Constable. 6 sep 1687 - John
BRIGGS was taxed 5 shillings 8 pence. 1687 - John BRIGGS and his wife
Francis sold land to William Allen. It is assumed that Thomas and Daniel
were his children, but the evidence is not conclusive.

John married (1) Frances FISHER? about 1692 in Kings Town, East Greenwich,
RI. Frances died after 1697.
They had the following children:

Never married.
+7Mvi.Richard BRIGGS was born 1 Feb 1675 and died before 29 Apr 1733.
8Mvii.Robert BRIGGS was born 13 Nov 1678.
9Fviii.Mary BRIGGS was born 2 Sep 1681.
10Fix.Ann BRIGGS was born 2 Sep 1683. She died 9 Sep 1683.
11Fx.Sarah BRIGGS was born 12 Apr 1685.




Second Generation

2.Thomas BRIGGS was born in Kings Town, East Greenwich, RI. He died 1736.
Thomas married (1) Martha.
They had the following children:

3.Daniel BRIGGS was born in East Greenwich, RI. He died 1730.
Daniel married (1) Lydia. Lydia died 1727.

I know little about these John's and nothing about their sibblings, and
