Shelly,
In looking through the works of Richard Warren Davis, both in his three
volumes set and in his MennoSearch website, I cannot find any documentation
regarding the "Miss Brubaker" (Davis's term) who married Jacob Barncord. In
typical Davis fashion, he did not provide sources for his assertions. If
her name were known, he probably would have mentioned it.

I agree that DNA testing can really help sort through lines. It may not
give you an exact answer, but it can help you determine which lines to
continue to track and which are unlikely to link to yours. The challenge,
however, is to test enough direct YDNA lines since a single line may be
distracted by an extra-paternal event such as adoption, remarriage, etc.
Of
course, when that happens, it just opens up new avenues for research. ;)
A question for Dwayne regarding your Brubakers . . .
By any chance, did your recent Brubaker Reunion discuss Abraham Brubaker?
He is said to have been born July 4, 1764 in Cocalico, Lancaster County,
son of Peter Brubaker and Maria Lesher? I am looking for the documentary
evidence used by Richard Warren Davis and others that state that Abraham's
daughter (name not known) married Jacob Barncord. I would like to look for
clues in those records to identify who I believe is likely the mother of
Jacob's children, NOT the wife Catherine that nearly every Barncord tree
lists
as the mother.
Though I've been unable to link Jacob Barncord directly to the Brethren
church, others in the family were most definitely connected.
Shelly
