I want to thank the people who weighed in on the issue of Brethren
doctrine and Free Masonry. I was afraid that there wouldn't be a
definitive conclusion to the question and it turns out that I was right.
I do I have a few more arrows in my quiver for establishing the religion
of Jacob Z. Davis.
I'm curious if anyone on the list has access to an obit for Jacob Z.
Davis, who died 28 Oct 1896 at the Continental Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.
He was in Philadelphia to see to the process that he had started to
build an expansion of the Germantown Church of the Brethren. Because of
this, his death might have been listed in a Brethren magazine purely for
that reason. The writer of the obit might have mentioned whether he was
a member of the church or not. Just an idea. Thanks.
