Gale,

Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that Daniel was a son, but, if
that's the case, Joseph has to be included as well, since Joseph and Daniel
were brothers marrying the Baltimore sisters in Wayne County, Indiana, and
then both locating in Miami County in central Indiana in 1838. The 1887
county history book makes it clear that they arrived together in 1838 (see
pp. 783-784).

I think it is a package deal. If you include Daniel, you have to include
Joseph.

So, if you add two more boys for John and Mary Kessler, one born about 1804,
and the other about 1806 (based on the 1860 census), where do they fit (and
where do you find them) in the 1820 Montgomery County, OH, census?

I conjecture that neither belonged to John and Mary, but if one did, so did
the other.

Dwayne

Not so sure I agree with you conjecture. If you look for Daniel Kessler in
1870 in Miami Co IN, you will see that he says he was born in NC.
