....sometime before the birth of his eldest child, Maria Elizabeth
[b.Jan 13, 1754, bz Apr 3, 1754], he married Maria Judith Endt, daughter
of Heinrich Endt and Elizabeth "Hirt" Landis. Johan Phillip and Maria
Judith "Endt" Schnell apparently were married in the opening months of
1753......That he, Phillip, was married to the daughter of Heinrich and
Elizabeth "Hirt" Endt, a parishioner of Ephrata but later of the
Conestoga German Baptist Congregation is evidenced by the will of
Heinrich Endt, written May 20 1754, probated Apr 1 1755, in which the
statement, "my Daughter, Judith, wife of Phillip Schnell", is made.

a later comment (p 16) - "Phillip was married only once" - that the
claim of two wives was an error due to the readings of the baptismal
lists in the register of Rev Johannes Waldschmidt!
