There are several Brethren churches along the Wildcat - it was a main
settlement area of "Wabash Country". Most of the young folks from the
Four Mile (Ohio State line, Union Co IN) went there, following 1833. I
have some on them in my on-line book - The Virginia Settlement - at the
Liberty (IN) Library website. Otho Winger's History of the Brethren in
Indiana has on them. Ministers and Elders came from the Four Mile -
were kin. The two migrations to Iowa in 1854-55 drew heavily from
there, although leadership came also from the Four Mile.. Other Brethren
going to "Wabash Country" were from the Twin Creek (Preble Co OH) and
the Great Miami River (Montgomery Co OH) - but many of these were also
kin to the Four Mile families.
What families are you interested in?
