Dear Bob
After returning from BVS in 1955 I was unable to find a living position. So I enrolled at Middletown Business College in Ohio.
A very dear minister friend and his wonderful wife needed some help in their home as well as in the various churches they were in, in Southern Ohio. They became my Spiritual Parents in the Lord.I was trying to work in Cincinnati while my folks lived there but it seem nothing was available. After living in the big city for six years my folks decided it was time for a change.Usually when they move they have a vacation week before starting to work in the new congregation.I had been planning to attend The National Youth Conference in Ashville N C traveling via bus from Southern Ohio.Since the folks were planning to spend a week there within minutes from where the conference was to be held they invited me to go with them. That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship that lasted for thirty some years until they went home to be with the Lord in the middle 80's.So in several ways I feel as though I have been in BVS most of my life.I finally started working at Sears in Chicago in 62 where I was employed for 35 years. In the meantime the folks became ministers in Muskegon Michigan where they lived for about nine years.Since Muskegon was pretty close to Chicago I was there at least once every other month helping in the many activities. The end of 69 the folks decided it was time to semi-retire in Billings Oklahomo.I had no idea I would know anyone the first Sunday I attended Church there. After the services guess who came to me.Vernona Storck who was Vernona Thralls while we were in Felefurrias.I also met her mother.Pop had passed away several years before this time.So we had several years of wonderful fellowship. She probably told me about the project but I just don't remember.I did marry a wonderful farmer who was so very active in the Church in Naperville,Il who also has gone home to be with the Lord after we were married about twenty years.Do you know Rev Alvin Cook and his family. They also have been wonderful friends of mine a long time. I now live in Sandwich Illinois working daily with the computer keeping in contact with the many activities of The Church of The Brethren.
