It also wouldn't hurt to look across the Wabash.  There is a Vermillion Co IL.People in west central IN sometimes made eastern IL their next destination.  There is a regional research facility for that area on the IL side.   I can't think just now who or where but it may come to me if you want to follow up.

Thanks Sharon - I feel certain you are correct about the probate and land
records in Vermillion County. I can't find much online, so I guess I will
make a trip there to see what I can find. I plan to visit Trowbridge
Cemetery there this coming Sunday, May 17th. Thanks for your help.
