Saylor is a name with ties to the Lichty name in Somerset County. There are
two branches of the Amish-Mennonite Seiler/Saylor family. One is from Jacob
Seiler who was Mennonite and lived in Somerset County, and his likely
brother Daniel Seiler lived in Frederick County MD, and converted at an
early point to the German Baptist faith. They both had origins in what is
now Lebanon County.

However, I am not aware of either family having descendents in Alabama in
the pre-Civil war days. The Deep South was not a typical migration
destination from PA or MD either (no easy way to get there for one thing).
