These two do not tie into my database. In my case, it appears that
for (my) blood relationships Andreas Huber (the Andrew Hoover of this
discussion) was the first Huber to 'come across the pond' as my
Scotch grandfather would say. I believe it was Huldah Minthorn
Hoover's book that made the comment that Andreas was the “root
ancestor in America for the former President Herbert Clark Hoover.”
I have plenty of Jacob and Hans' but none of those dates.
I have a quote from somewhere--I can't find the source--that my ggg
grandfather Daniel Hoover (b. 1797 in York County, Pa.) was a
Mennonite, but upon arriving in Fayette County, INDIANA he associated
with the 'Dunkard' church because there was no Mennonite congregation
nearby, and the Dunkards were so active.
This is absolutely fascinating, and an intense detective game. I
appreciate your help, and look forward to much more discussion.
Thanks,
Ron
