Karin,
Joseph was a brother to my great grandmother, Christiana Hanawalt Allen. I
have a little information from a journal my grandfather, George Hanawalt
Allen, kept when he was doing family research in the early 1950's.
Unfortunately, he died in 1955 and I can't substantiate any of his data.
Joseph's DOB is listed as 4/24/1850 and he died 10/18/1919. They moved to
Iowa in 1875. Both Joseph and Caroline, as well as a daughter, are buried
in the Dumont, Iowa Cemetery.
Five children are listed; Rosie, Emanuel, Lillian, Rueben and Pearl.
Another son (name not listed) died on March 31, 1875 while the family was
still living in Indiana.
I also have some dates for Caroline, if you need them.
