My step fathers family were brethren a few generations back. His mother was
Maude Steele daughter of Jackson Steele. She married Joel Heckman. My step
father was Paul Jackson Heckman. But, the funny thing is that my mother met
Paul about 9 years after she was widowed. After their marriage she picked up
his Ikenberry genealogy book one day and found her cousin's husbands name in it.
His cousin was Harve Flory who was married to Elsie daughter, granddaughter
of Parilee Montgomery. Montgomery's and Flory's were Old German Baptist. My
mothers grandparents were George Montgomery and Martha Jane Hopkins. Her
great grandparents were James Montgomery and Susannah Naff.

Turns out that my step father and my mother were related about four
generations back. Going back to a Samuel Montgomery. It was a half relationship as
there were two wives. One Frances Bowman and the other Hannah Ikenberry. Think
she was a widow of a Flory too. But, not sure without looking it up.
