Hi!
I am trying to figure out if this family was Brethren. I hope someone
can help me out - I'd sure appreciate it! Basically I'm just taking
a guess on this. No clues from obituaries, place of burial, etc. By
the time I get down to the couple's grandchildren, several completely
shunned any church affiliation.
Lewis Markley b. 25 Mar 1837, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
d. 25 Mar 1909, Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska, USA
son of Martin Markley and Rachel Lutz
& Carinda Elisabeth Garman b. 6 Jan 1844, Union County,
Pennsylvania, USA
d. 7 Feb 1917, Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska, USA
daughter of Jacob German/Garman and Louisa Menges
m. 10 Apr 1864, St. Joseph County, Michigan
Places of residence: St. Joseph County, Missouri (very brief);
Elkhart County, Indiana, Adams County, Nebraksa. They went to Oregon
for something like 2 years in the 1890s, then back to Adams County.
Issue:
Fannie Etta Markley (1867-1941) m. David Harlow Reese
Hattie Louise Markley (1873-1899)
Matie Eleanor Markley (1877-1962) m. Arthur Garries
Alice Carinda Markley (1881-1950)
John Lewis Markley (1884-1967) m. Bertha Mae Lange
