Friends of Brethren site. This document just came into my possession, thought some of you would be interested concerning the Brethren in Christ Church Wayne County Ohio
At the Public Sale held at Smithville of the Old Church and furniture belonging to the Brethren in Christ on the 20th day of September 1879 David Brenizer was the highest bidder to whom said church was sold for thirty dollars & he agreeing to give his note and said sum is not paid yet. The State of Ohio Wayne County Ohio Personally appear3d before me a Notary Public and for the county said Simon Bauman one of the Trustees of said Church and was duly qualified and says that the above is just and true that there are no offsets against the same Signed Simon Bauman Trustee Affirmed to and subscribed before me this first day of March 1885 John Zimmerman Notary Public
