Wayne,
Eli Renner age 40 born OH, a farmer, his wife Dianna 38 OH and
mother-in-law Margaret Cubbison 71 were enumerated in 1880, P.O. Burr
Oak, Jewell County KS.
According to the Brethren Encyclopedia, the Burr Oak church was started
in 1871 with the arrival of Elder Allen & Polly [Deeter] Ives. In 1874
it was divided creating the Solomon Valley congregation centered around
Portis and again in 1877 creating the White Rock congregation centered
around Lowell. Burr Oak's meeting house was not built until 1885.

Afternoon List,
I have an announcement for a Love feast that I can not figure out
where
it was:
"Sept. 15 and 16, at 10 A. M., 2 1/2 miles south-west of Burr Oak,
at
Bro. Eli Renner's."
Can anyone tell me if this is a reference to the Burr Oak
congregation in
Kansas? Is it perhaps denoting a daughter church?
Thanks in advance.
Wayne
