Bill, according the book "Eighteenth Century Emigrants from the Northern
Alsace to America", by Annette Kunselman Burgert, FGSP, FASG, the family
of Diebold Lederman, of Mattstall= 67510 Lembach, arrived on the James
Goodwill in 1727 (6 in family). Lembach Lutheran church book records the
births/baptisms of 4 children of Hans Theobald Lederman of Mattstall and
wife Anna Maria nee Engler. The Langensoultzbach Lutheran church book
records the baptism of Hans Daniel Lederman on 6 Nov 1718, son of Hans
Diebold Lederman and wife Maria Nee Engel. Two more children baptized
there and one in Dehlingen. The Dehlingen Lutheran church book gives
Hans Theobald Lederman's occupation as "linenweaver, aus der Elsass".
