I just discovered when working on my Tennessee genealogy tonight that
one of my ancestors on my fathers side is also Brethren. I didn't
expect it from Tennessee. My Mom's side from Ohio and Indiana are all
Brethren.

Can someone look at the obituary index and see if you have a Lewis Jones
who was a minister in the Dunkard church near Cabbage, in Bell Co., Ky
in 1885. What I found said that is when he was ordained. His wife was
Margaret Mildred Herrell before marrying him about 1865 in Tennessee.
They lived in Kentucky for many years then moved to Ewing Va. around
1900 which is really just a county over and there they were involved
with the Ewing Va. Church of the Brethren. It says that Lewis and his
wife established a school in Tennessee (again, right next door but
across the border) and when the school was torn down about 1960 the Bell
was given to the Brethren church where they had been members in Ewing
Va.

I'm really hopeful to find something about her parents in her obituary.

Thank you for anything in advance,

Bobbi Estes
