Philip,
We personally knew some "Pontius" in White Heath, Piatt Co.,IL......his name
was Richard "Dick" Pontius. His wife's name was Imogene "Jean" JONES
PONTIUS. Possibly they are still in the area or even in Champaign,Champaign
Co.,IL. You might find him in the 1930 Census if you have access to any of
those counties. I don't. Sorry. They had I believe 4 children, 3 boys 1
girl-Donnie; twins boy(Dennis) and girl(Diane) and Ricky(possibly Richard
after his Dad) that would also still be living. He died in the late '60's or
early '70's. He was in his 40's - heart problems-had open heart surgery
previously. Wife remarried to a ? GOLDEN.....
His mother a widow lived in Villa Grove,Douglas Co.,IL.
Don't know if this will help, but a very unusual name and it caught my eye
as we were very good friends.
Regards,
Pat C in Arkansas
