Tom,
According to Lester H. Binnie's "The German Baptist Arnolds":

Perry A. Arnold was baptized by Elder James Fike into the Eglon German
Baptist Brethren congregation in 1889. He was a son of John S. Arnold
1821-1874 & Susan M. Jacobs 1828-1900 according to their 1847 marriage
record in Allegany County MD or Susan Shaffer according to family
records. He was a grandson of William Arnold 1799-1865 & Elizabeth
Sharps 1802-1869, 1850 living in Garrett County MD. William is
speculated as a possible grandson of George Arnold Sr. 1752-?? of
Somerset County PA. Bennie lists Perry's wife as Maria Fike but gives
no further identification of her and does not mention a second marriage.
He does not continue on with the children of Perry and Maria or Marian.
He lists sources for Perry in Young's "History of the Church of the
Brethren in Michigan" p 206 and "The Gospel Messenger" April 23, 1949, p
24. Perhaps Maria or Marian's obit would be revealing as to her
parentage.
