I really don't know much about the Jonathan Creek Brethren. Just that my ancestors were involved in that church. I learned that from John Roberts will and from obituraries in the Gospel Messenger. I am related to the Horns through Catherine daughter of Daniel and also Daniel's daughter Mary to Adam Plank. And Susannah Croy daughter of Matthias Croy.
I was quite surprised to see the names of Abraham Hufford, Adam Plank, and Staley. I am related to these people also.
I have other Brethren ancestors also but they were in VA and then Indiana where the Huffords went. Abraham's daughter Elizabeth married Noah Gochenour.

I would love to find out if there were any Hoovers, Germans, Goods, Morelands. I believe that Elizabeth Hoover who married John Roberts' son John was the daughter of John Hoover and Rachel German. I have not been able to prove that but I have alot of circumstantial evidence. I found an obituary for John Hoover the right date in the Gospel Visitor listed as died in Jonathans Creek church. He was listed along with John Helser, and Elizabeth Snyder all in 1855.
The Jacob Cherry Cemetery is in Muskingum Co, Newton Twp. and John Roberts daughter Mary married a James Cherry so I assume it must be on his families land or something.
I believe John Roberts that married Catherine Horn was a minister and I think some of the church meetings were held at his house. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Adam Plank and Mary Horn had eight children - including Susannah - which one is your ancestor?

The Horn and Roberts families are mentioned in several early histories of Newton Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. I do not know if they are in line yet? Someone will let us know. I have mentioned the Roberts family briefly and the Brethren of Jonathan Creek extensively in our story of the Bowser family. It is on a CD in the Muskingum Chapter and the Perry County Chapter of the OGS but it is PDF format and I do not know if they are yet able to read them. And I have sent it to Angela Kneller who is going to put it on her web page - but I don't know if she has been able to do so yet.

If the Elgin Archives would make it available I will send them a copy - perhaps Mari you can ask them.

You and my wife have Adam Plank and Mary Horn as common grandparents. They are the great-grandparents of Betty Jean Clark. So if you are of the same generation you are second-cousins. Welcome cousin. And yes you also have Daniel Horn and Susannah Croy in common.

Very best regards to a new found cousin.... Hal
