Hi
I am also new to this list, guess no one noticed when I said hi a couple of
days ago, and I been buzy to write again, but here goes. I am interested in a
Exclusion list. My Mothers people were German Brethren, Ma says she was
raised a Baptist, but it were her Daddy's Mama who was Brethern and a bunch
before that in Tennessee.
So I got some questions of my own. First, on the subject of saints::::
Someone must have told me about saints. I started wearing a St Christopher,
patron saint of travel when I was 14. Still got one on.
Also I have a letter from Rhoda Crosswhite, my Great grandmother who wrote
to her grandchildren with the exception of my Ma, asking them to stay in the
faith as she would be weeping at the hem of Jesus Gown until they converted.
Pretty cool letter even if she did exclude my Ma and all her descendents. Ma
would have only been 10 years old so maybe cause she was a child, I don't
know.
So If a Brethren lived in Hancock County which Brethern church would they
go too?
How did the Brethern get mixed up with the Melungeons?
Where can I look for church records and what can I find in there?
Is there anything else I should be looking for in research I am missing out
on?
Thanks in advance for your answering of this letter :-)
