I checked the marriage records and David Straw and Mary Wolf were not
married in Montgomery county, Ohio. I also checked surrounding counties and
there is not a marriage listed in any of them either. Or at least there is no
record of it.
I did read the will of Jacob Wolf from the film of which I have a copy
and it is clearly written in the will that Mary's last name was Straw and not
Strow. Furthermore it is written twice with a distictive "a" and not an "o."
I would have to order his estate packet to determine his last name with
anymore certainety as it should have David's signature in it. There is
probably a deed or two that would also reflect this but I did not check those
films. What do you want for free.
I do not understand the part in regards to the heirs of Martin Shoup.
You are listing Elizabeth as a daughter and that she was married to a Jacob
Wolf. Am I to understand that you do not know who Martin's children were? It
clearly states on the marriage of Jacob Wolf, brother to Mary Wolf Straw,
that his wife's last name was Shouk. It is most definitely not Shank or Shoup
and I scanned this from the original marriage record book so it is a clear
image and not a xerox copy which can be poor. It may be that she is part of
the Shook familiy which also lived in the same general area.
I would recommend that you obtain information on Martin Shoup such as
his estate packet or anything else where ever he lived.
