Susan, Roger, and all.....

While it is not a surname I am researching I did stumble across
a Rarick grave while copying all gravestones in Newberry Township
Miami County Ohio (a highly Brethren area). This stone seemed
unique to me as it was a lone stone in the middle of a woods. No
other graves anywhere in that woods.

Jacob Rarick
Died 30 Aug 1820, aged 41 years, 9 months, 3 days.

The stone is very easy to read. It is in section 10 of Newberry Twp.

Curiosity caused me to discover that his wife was nee Elizabeth Hoover,
a dau of Christian and Anne (Houser) Hoover. Elizabeth was born 8 Feb
1784 Huntingdon Co Pa. Died 15 March 1857 Elkhart Co Indiana, buried
there in Miller Cemetery. After Rarick's death she remarried to Jacob
Wise.

His Last Will dated 13 Aug 1820, recorded 31 March 1821 in Miami Co
Ohio. "My heirs: wife and all my children." His children, order of
birth uncertin: Barbara, Susannah, Mary, David, Christian, Jacob,
John, Lydia, Elizabeth and Catharine
