Pat,
Martin Fouts is listed on p 87 of "Descendents of Adam Shock" pub 1911 by Joseph H Shock of Lafayette IN, as one of three sons born to Jacob Fouts and Katherine Shock, the younger ones being Elijah [married...not given; Elizabeth Earhart] and Jacob [married...not given; Lucinda Early]. Spellings as given in the book.

Martin Pfoutz b c1826 Montgomery? Co OH, d 10 May 1873 Lanier twp, Preble Co OH
m 26 Apr 1849 Preble Co OH
Susannah Earhart b 9 Mar 1829 Preble? Co OH, d 7 or 14 Apr 1910 nr Dayton OH
d/o William Earhart & Sarah unknown; she buried Woodland Cemetery in Dayton
From census records they were the parents of Sarah, Daniel, Ida, Charles, Laura, Elmer, Cora A, Henry, Clara/Caroline. From published records of Preble County, I have not discovered a marker for Martin. His parents, Jacob and Catharine Shock Pfoutz are buried Eversole [Church of the Brethren] Cemetery in Montgomery County.
I would be very interested in knowing further information on the children of Martin and Susannah. Also ancestral identification of William Earhart. Ehrhart is the German spelling of the surname.
