Alot of people who where in Washington County also married in Chambersburg
or Mercersburg, PA or over the line in VA. Hope this helps to find your
family. I still have a lot of family in this area and that is how I know
this information, because people who live in Mercersburg, PA were married in
Hagerstown, MD and vice versa and also before relocating to different areas.
Sincerely
Darlene Jestus

comments. I did find the family living in Neave twp, Darke Co OH in 1850
owning a farm valued at $2000. Daughter Elizabeth is still with them and in
looking for the Givens family, they are in Twin twp and John is also still
at home. Problem. I have the marriage record books as published by Short &
Bower for the county, and there is no record of John & Elizabeth's marriage.
Also checked the 3rd volume from 1850 on and they are not there either.
Thought the Zimmerman's might be from the huge family of that name in
Frederick Co MD but failed to find a marriage record there for John &
Lucinda. Vicholy may be a very bad spelling of another name. We have
discovered in a number of the early Darke County records that the court
clerk was either very creative or somewhat uneducated. Since Nancy was
written as Vancy, perhaps Vicholy should start with an N....and could the y
be an s. Just trying to think out a name that !
