Christian Shively lived at the corner of Hoover and Olive Roads. He built a
stone house there in 1811 the first "real house" in Madison Twnshp for a cost
of $100. The Shively Cemetery is known as Turner-Shively and is on his farm.
I wonder if anything can be found now. In 1980 it was very hard to locate.
We went past a field north on Olive Road to the first house on the left at
that time(probably built up by now) went in the lane and in back of the house
and back south across a field. It was very overgrown then and without the
help of Don Bowman we could never have found it. He had read and recorded
the stones in the 1950s I think.
