There are records but not clear in some areas..

John Nicholson b. 5-15-1824 In Fayette Co. Pa. d12-11-1904 became an elder
at Jacobs Creek, Pa in 1864 also lived and was church leader/eldeer
Bristolville, Oh; Amwell, Pa.. Black Hawk Co, IA 1883-4, Hudson IA Pony
Creek KS 1888 Rosena, Ca 1893 Became Ashland Brethren at the Great
Divide... Probably an obituary apppears in their publication BRETHREN
EVANGELIST Dec 28, 1904 issue. Marrried to Miss C.L. Pullen of New York
on April l, 1849.

What I believe to be John Sr. was elder at Indian Creek, Pa for 35 years...
This is also confirmed from Two Centuries of the Church of the Brethren in
Western Pennsylvania 1751 - 1950 . John Sr was likely one of the first
ministers in the Indian Creek congregation and is known to have preached a
funeral there about 1838.
