To those interested in River Brethren/Brethren in Christ/Eisenhower:

I've just returned from the Brethren in Christ General Conference and
retrieved a number of emails regarding the Eisenhower family and its connection
to the River Brethren/Brethren in Christ. Those who wish to pursue this in more
depth (and with a bit more clarity and accuracy) should contact the Brethren in
Christ Archives at Messiah college for information. A number of very good
articles have been written on the subject. E. Morris Sider has been the church
archivist for many years and is a wonderful source of information. Our new
archivist was installed at this general conference. Her name is Dori Steckbeck
and she can be reached at the following email address:

"Steckbeck, Dori" <>

As Bruce suggests, the standard history of the Brethren in Christ by Carlton O.
Wittlinger, "Quest For Piety and Obedience," is an excellent source of
information. This work is to be revised by Dr. Sider in the near future but is
currently the best history available on the Brethren in Christ.
