In working on my great grandmother's ( and name sake) line, I've learned that
she was a Dunkard and lived in Pyrmont, Montgomery County, OH. She was born
in Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland. Her name was Martha Matilda FOX,
daughter of Solomon P. FOX and Emily STULTZ, she married a Ruben EVANS son of
John B. EVANS who was originally from Harrisonburg, Rockingham County,
Virginia. Does the Encyclopedia reference any churches in either Pyrmont,
OH, Union Bridge, MD, Harrisonburg, VA?

In addition, the family legend is that John B. Evans removed from VA to OH in
order to avoid the Civil War due to his Dunkard faith.

Also, and please pardon my ignorance, but the one picture I have of Martha
shows her wearing a small white cap. Can someone please enlighten me
regarding the cap, it's use and history?

Thank you so much for any assistance as I would love to know more about my
name sake and her way of life, beliefs, etc.
