Have to finally break down and discard these very old newspapers I had
kept due to moving.Please remember that I am just sharing, it is not my
family line! But inside one of the piles of the post-Civil War
ones was a "Gospel Visitor" Volume XVIII July 1868 Number 7. Printed and
published in Covington, Miami Co, OH on Henry Kurtz's "Visitor Press",
by James Quinter and Henry J. Kurtz.
On page 224 is "Died in Jacksonville (Walnut Bottom) PA April
28 1868 Samuel D. only child of David R. ECKER. Aged 11 years 2 months
and 28 days. Funeral service by the Brethren D. KELLER and J. STAMEY.
Poem by M.J.C.Ecker is "He giveth his beloved sleep, Forever with the
Lord, Amen so let it be, Unbounded bliss is in that word, Tis
immortality".
