Merle,

I would leave the family alone. Then I would just do somemore digging into
records or check with someone else in the family.
It is not worth causing any pain over the fact that these 2 fifteen year
old's had children out of wedlock. Leave the sleeping dogs alone.
Your living family is more prescious that the of the things that are dead
and buried.

Just write it where it sounds pleasant and not like some dirty little
secret. You need to keep you living family proud of you and not hating your
guts for airing the dirty linen in public. These people are from the old
school of manners. Walk on eggshells and be nice. Maybe someday they will
let you in on their secret, but they are not ready now.
