Thank you for the information concerning the formation of the Churches in
East Tennessee and Mitchell Co. N.C...
Those Harrells are a part of the lines I am researching.. The Harrells
settled on land near Big Rock Creek about 1800.. I have visited that area
and found the Pleasant Grove Church you referred to.. It sits in a grove
high atop Harrell Hill, and it is an absolutely beautiful view from there..
Wiley Harrell owned the farm adjoining the church grounds and I understand
he gave the land for the church and cemetary..He and his wife Elizabeth are
buried in the cemetary there..The Masters family lives nearby and are
related to the Harrells also..I was unaware that Fred Harrell and Eb were
