There is disagreement regarding which John Garber is which. See
Steve Garver's web site:
http://members.aol.com./~srgarver/index.htm . Current theory is
that Johannes H. who arrived in 1850 (letter "O" on Steve's list)
was Amish and settled in Cumru Twp. near Reading, PA. This theory
has many holes in it and may not be correct.
I would be interested to know who was named in the 1748 will of
Johannes and where it was filed in Lancaster County. This may be
a clue regarding the mistaken identity above and it may pertain to
another John Garber, arrived 1736 (letter "C" on Steve's list.)
Best Wishes,
Douglas M. Garber
