Subject: Zodiac Signs in Bibles (1733)

Friends,
One item on another list is a "Baptismal Certificate" of Katherine Flora.
This would have been Sept 1733 if family stories are correct about this
being hers. It has confused this line for years and will likely continue to
do so.
One of the list members found a reference to pages like this being in bibles
of the time. Is anyone familiar with items like this? Thanks Mike Barnhart
This is from Roxann Rhea (as shown below)
I would appreciate anyone's knowledge of the following:
Use of Zodiac signs...probably
in Bible entries of births...by Brethren members....i.e.(person's name) was
born in the sign of...Crab, Virgin, etc.
I posted this on the Flora rootsweb several days ago. Michael Barnhart
suggested I post it here also. All of it pertains to the Naff/Flora
tradition of a "baptismal certificate" for Katherine Flory dated 8 Sept.
1733...believed to have been Lutheran or Reformed. I have doubted this
since learning that the translation involved the phrase, "in the Sign of
the Virgin". I have interesting answers, involving Mennonite religion and
a couple involving Brethren.
Would also like to hear from other Brethren about their knowledge of this.
Rather than repeat everything here, I will give you what I have and my
thoughts on the subject when you write to me. Of course, if people want
the whole thing on your network, I will be happy to do so.
Many thanks,
Roxann Flora Rhea
