I have an article from the October 1981 edition of Pennsylvania
Mennonite Heritage magazine. The article is "Three Bears of Earl
Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and Other Early Bears" by
Jane Evans Best. In it she says Jacob Bear died in 1736, leaving a
widow, Barbara nee Hiestand, and three daughters, Elizabeth, Mary, and
Barbara. The widow subsequently married a neighbor, Jacob Sumy.
Daughter Elizabeth married Peter Whitmore, Mary married John Senseny,
and Barbara married Christian Newcomer. Is this the same Christian
Newcomer you refer to?

I am descended from Jacob's brother, John Henry Bear. I see that John
Henry's son John married Christina Newcomer.
