Bob Harter writes, regarding Emanuel FLORY:
>Now, we do have a discrepancy, though. According to the biosketch,
>Emanuel was known to be married twice, and his first wife's maiden name was
>Blocher. Emanuel's stone is in the West Branch Cem, with the inscription
>"dec'd March 9, 1849" With it is a stone for "Elizabeth, wife of Emanuel
>Flory, dec'd September 20, 1855." This would appear to be his second wife.
> Thre is no indication of a Sarah Kaza - unless she was a third wife of
>whom the editors of the book were unaware.
>In case you do not have it, the biosketch indicates that Emanuel's
>was Abraham, who lived near Meyersdale, Somerset Co., PA.
>(I am not in this family, but my great grandfather, Henry Baker,
>of the early ministers of the West Branch Church.)
I am not QUITE in this family, but I descend from two of Emanuel's
siblings. Here's what I have:
1. Emanuel was b. 13 Jul 1776, Washington Twp, Franklin Co, PA.
2. It was his MOTHER, Abraham's wife, who was a BLOCHER, not Emanuel's wife.
3. The name of his first wife was Sarah KEAGY. Her parents were John KEAGY
and Sarah SNEIDER, and her sister Anna married Emanuel's brother Henry.
Henry and Anna are my ancestors.
