Leroy
Many thanks for your response, and offer to check your files. I certainly
would appreciate what ever you could find, whenever time permits.
Some names to look for:
Andrew and Sarah/Sally PENCE SHAFFER
Andrew and Frances BRANNAN SHAFFER
Ira and Sally/Sarah MIDDAUGH SHAFFER
William and Delilah SHAFFER CASSELL
Daniel and Mary Jane SHAFFER
Daniel Washington SHAFFER
There may be a significance to the one F or two F SHAFFERS but I don't know
what. I suspect there is none, except how whoever was writing it down,
thought it was spelled. I have a cuz whose father just arbitrarily dropped
an F while in college, just because!
Michael SHAFFER father of Andrew above, had a second wife and family, with
four of the kids born in Cass Co IN 1818-1833. The last four were born in
Preble Co starting in 1835. When Michael died in 1867 he was living in
Preble Co as were most of the kids, but he still owned two farms in Cass Co
and one in Preble Co.
Regards
Jim Lewis
